Cumbrian based artist John McNamee developed a love of fine art at an early age and considered an artists career before becoming an apprentice footballer with Carlisle Utd.
John's father, John McNamee senior, was a professional player with several clubs including Newcastle Utd, Celtic, Hibernian, Blackburn Rovers and Workington Reds.
Sadly a series of injuries ended hopes of a professional footballing career, although John continues to work in the world of Sport and Recreation.
A return to his first love of art is evident in the delightful and lovingly crafted portraits John produces. Certainly his sporting pedigree is displayed amazingly in the football stars portraiits.
